In or Out? Go for a ride with Garry Shandling or party in the Nord-East

Wondering what to do tonight? In or Out is the daily answer to that question from Gazette music contributor Erik Leijon and writer/editor Denise Duguay.

Stay in: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (Crackle.com) OK, Jerry Seinfeld isn’t back with fresh Season 8 episodes until tomorrow evening and the next few Thursdays, when guests will include (in no particular order, so far) Margaret Cho, Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver (Last Week Tonight), JB Smoove and writer/producer Judd Apatow (Girls, Love, Knocked Up). But tonight, you should go back to Season 7’s lovely chat with Garry Shandling, who died unexpectedly in March, not long after the episode was released. It’s a perfect snapshot of the paradox of the comic – sweet, bitter, open, jaded. DD

Go out: The summer residency once known as Sud-West has been displaced. Because local DJ’s Poirier and Ghostbeard have moved their periodic music nights from Terrasse St-Ambroise to St-Michel due to encroaching condos, the night is now going by the more geographically apropos name of Nord-East. Otherwise, expect more of the same: a solid base of dancehall and reggae music selections with a relaxed, post-hump day vibe. After tonight, Nord-East will be held the last Wednesdays in June, July and August. From 6-11 p.m. at TOHU, 2345 Jarry East. Free entry.
